MFC – Malawi Fertilizer Company

With the establishment of MFC 14 years ago came the first NPK fertilizer bulk-blending plant south of the Sahara. This process of fertilizer manufacture enables MFC not only to mass-produce general purpose fertilizers for the maize and tobacco farmers but also enables tailor-made fertilizers to be produced in small quantities for specialised crops such as tea and macadamia.

The plant is strategically located in Liwonde on the rail line linking it to Nacala in Mozambique, the largest natural port in East Africa, allowing it to benefit from large bulk shipments from its raw-material suppliers in Europe, Middle East & the Far East.

With an installed capacity of 150,000mt/annum, MFC is well placed to satisfy all Malawi’s current NPK fertilizer requirements.
